Learning outcomes

At the end of the module the student has the ability to apply knowledge and understanding regarding occupational therapy. Can identify the limitations of skills and participation in social life through the main systems of measuring autonomy. Can plan and implement interventions to improve the autonomy allowed by the residual potential in people with disabilities.

Course contents

- Definition of T.O., historical and theoretical principles
- The figure of the occupational therapist: professional profile
- Evaluation of the person: concepts of function, autonomy, independence,
empowerment
- Evaluation scales of daily life activities (FIM - Barthel - COPM) and
for aids (PIAds, Whom)

- Definition of aids, orthoses and prostheses. Role of products / technologies in the environmental context as facilitators according to the ICF classification
- ISO 9999-2011 classification
- Tariff Nomenclator (DM 332/99); Text, annex (list 1-2-3) annex 2.
- Prime Ministerial Decree of 12 January 2017: outline of annex 5.
- Insights into the professional profile of the physiotherapist:
Propose the adoption of prostheses and aids, use training and
verify its effectiveness.
Welcome and evaluate patient proposals.
Specialization in occupational therapy.

Regional guidelines for prosthetic, orthotic assistance and supply of technological aids.
- Training in the use of the
most frequent aids for the caregiver and for the user: anti-decubitus systems,
transfer and hygiene-related systems, mobility, application of braces and
orthoses.
- Home automation,
architectural barriers, adaptations of the domestic environment, legislation in
support of disability (CAAD, CRA, CAT network, L. Reg. 29 / '97, L. 13 / '89,
DM 236 / '89)

Practical exercises on the
use and training of the use of aids.

In consideration of the type of activity and the teaching methods adopted, the attendance of this training activity requires the prior participation of all students in Modules 1 and 2 of safety training in the places of study, [https://elearning-sicurezza.unibo.it/] in e-learning mode.

Assessment methods

Practical test: description and training in the use of aids. About 15 minutes.

Written exam: open answers to questions relating to the topics covered. 60 minutes available.
