Learning outcomes
The seminar aims to provide theoretical, but above all practical, elements of professional ethics, a fundamental aspect of the future professional work of the students attending the degree course.
Course contents
All professions, often also employment relationships, imply due respect of codes of conduct, called deontological codes, inspired by identical fundamental principles, and then declined into specific contents, depending on the features of the individual activities.
Within the seminar, discussion will cover the general framework of the deontological issues, the fundamental principles on which all professional codes are based, the steps of the disciplinary procedure and its sanctionary system, in order to analyze then, with a case related method and with the aid of experts in the field, including specific topics of considerable delicacy, such as professional confidentiality, duty of confidentiality (and its implications in the matter of privacy protection) and practicing of the profession.
The course will consist of 5 meetings of two hours each, which will deal with the notion of deontology and its relationships with professional responsibility, the fundamental principles of the code of ethics, relations with colleagues and clients, conditions of legitimate practice of the profession, duty of confidentiality, privacy obligations and disciplinary procedures.

Teaching methods
The course will feature practical content seminars: after a general framing of the individual topics, in-depth studies are also planned through the analysis of judicial decisionsand, where possible, real cases. Active participation by attending students is welcome.
Seminars shall imply the signature of those attending.
Attendance requirements shall imply no less than 80% attendance to the meetings.
Assessment methods
The assessment of the learning for attending students will be composed by multiple choice questions. In case of insufficiency, an integrative interview will be carried out.
The final evaluation will consist of a pass/fail judgment.
