Learning outcomes

At the end of the elective course the students will be able to: - Understanding of the diagnostic and treatment problems concerning the various branches of maxillofacial pathology and mastery of the methods of application of new technologies to these pathologies. - Ability to identify and propose the application of the diagnostic tool and the most appropriate treatment method for a given pathology. - Ability to critically analyze functional problems related to neoplastic, malformative and traumatological pathology of the face. - Ability to communicate with the medical community the principles of diagnosis and treatment proposed for the diseases addressed in the course.

Evolution of biomedical technologies in surgery.

Technologies for 3d modelling of anatomical structures for surgery planning.

Technologies and materials for 3d printing in medicine.

Innovative technologies in surgery: regulatory aspects.

Assessment methods

The exam includes an oral exam.

The exam aims to evaluate the student's theoretical knowledge. Analysis and synthesis skills, language properties and clarity of concepts and exposure are also evaluated.
