Learning outcomes

This course is aimed to provide students with the essential knowledge about the cognitive and emotional processes involved in doctor-patient relationship.

Course contents

1. Neurophysiological, cognitive, affective and interpersonal factors related to clinical assesment; 2. Psychological and communication processes involved in doctor-patient relationship and in patient's compliance to treatment; 3. Perceptual and cognitive biases in healthcare context.

Teaching methods

Lectures. Experimental and clinical research outputs will be presented and discussed.

Assessment methods

Critical summary of an applied research work concerning the affecting factors of the relationship and therapeutic adherence. The positive evaluation of this summary will contribute to determining the achievement of the Integrated Course "Basics of the Clinical Interviewing".
