Learning outcomes

The student acquires the study techniques and the methods for the osteoarticular apparatus in conventional radiology, is able to recognize the appropriate study protocol.

Course contents

The program includes the diagnostic approach to the conventional study of the musculoskeletal system with focus on the anatomy of the districts of interest, radiographic projections and commonly used equipment.

  • Geometric parameters: orthogonal planes and landmarks;
  • Physical parameters (kV, mA, time) and their use;
  • Radiographic study of the skull: an outline of anatomy, study projections and criteria of correctness;
  • Radiographic study of the spine: an outline of anatomy of the cervical, dorsal and lumbar tract, study projections and criteria of correctness;
  • Radiographic study of the shoulder girdle: notes on anatomy, study projections and correctness criteria;
  • Radiographic study of the upper limbs: an outline of anatomy, study projections and criteria of correctness;
  • Radiographic study of the lower limbs: outline of anatomy, study projections and correctness criteria;
  • Radiographic study of the pelvis: outline of anatomy, study projections and correctness criteria.

Teaching methods

Frontal lessons with Power Point slides, vision of Case Reports and discussion.

Assessment methods

Oral interview during which the topics covered during the lectures will be discussed.

They will be evaluated:

  • knowledge of the contents;
  • the argument;
  • clarity and expository mastery;
  • interaction and critical capacity.

Teaching tools

A cloud platform will be active for the rapid sharing of the educational contents treated.
