Course contents
Epistemology of science education
To grasp the
fundamentals of science education need to understand how they
developed the foundations of other disciplines. It will realize
that the natural sciences are aimed at deciphering the complexity
of a certain type of phenomena while the human sciences are geared
to decipher another type of phenomena. The educational sciences are
within this second type.
You
will see how all science applied a diversity of tools and
methodologies, depending on the phenomenon to decipher, so there is
no single scientific method, but many. You can mathematize a space
launch but you can mathematize feelings. It is the money and
feelings that make the world go round. The first can be
mathematized but any attempt to mathematize the second is, in the
words of Popper - the largest epistemologist science of '900 -
aping senseless.
