Learning outcomes

At the end of the module the students will be expected to have:

acquired a general knowledge about etiopathogenesis, epidemiology, clinical manifestation and complications of cancer;

acquired a basic knowledge about cancer nursing and expecially about the diagnostic-therapeutic approach, chemotherapy and new target therapies, radiotherapy, prevention and treatment of side effects of cancer-therapy. 

Course contents

  1. Epidemiology, pathogenesis and prevention of cancer
  2. Symptoms, complications and prognosis of cancer
  3. Diagnosis and staging
  4. Treatment: surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and new target therapy
  5. Prevention and management of treatment complications, supportive care.
  6. Nursing of patient with blood diseases
