Learning outcomes

At the end of the module, the student is acquainted with the fundamental notions concerning differential and integral calculus of functions of one variable.

Course contents

Some definitions about set theory. Real numbers. Exponential and logarithmic functions. Trigonometric functions. Limits and continuity for real functions of a real variable. Derivatives. Higher order derivatives. Local maxima and minima. Infinitesimal asymptotics and Taylor formula. Riemann integral for real functions of a real variable. Antiderivatives. Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. Techniques of integrations (by parts, by substitution), integral of rational functions. Generalized integrals.
