Learning outcomes

The aim of this course is to develop basic concepts useful for understanding human behavior within organizations from a managerial perspective. The lectures and the discussions of case studies focus on issues related to individuals, groups and organizational processes in the workplace. More specifically, the course aims to provide concepts and tools to: a) understand and use the fundamental theories of organizational behavior; b) develop critical skills for analyzing how organizational behavior theories apply to managerial choices; c) identify approaches to solve managerial problems through classroom discussion of relevant cases.

Teaching methods

Frontal lectures that include also the discussion of case studies for combining theory with practice. If possible, 1/2 practitioners will be invited to report their personal experience. All the lectures are intended to be very interactive, using also online platforms and multimedia tools.  

Assessment methods

Written exam combining multiple choice and open questions.

Teaching tools

Lectures, case studies discussion and lectures held by practitioners.
