Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student has to get a proper knowledge of human anatomy related to the locomotor apparatus and movement, with particular attention to the sport activity.

Course contents

LOCOMOTOR APPARATUS

General knowledge of connective tissues. Cartilage tissue, bone tissue, skeletal muscle tissue. Tendons: structure and ultrastructure.

General knowledge of skeletal bones.

General knowledge and classification of skeletal joints.

Temporo-mandibular joint, scapula-humer joint, elbow joint, wrist joint, hand joints, hip joint, knee joint, ankle joint, foot joints, spinal column joints.

General knowledge and classifiction of skeletal muscles.

Skeletal muscles of head and neck, chest muscles, abdomen muscles, back chest muscles, upper limb muscles,  lower limb muscles, intrinsic chest muscles, perineum muscles.

Fascie, sheaths, synovial bags.

General considerations about gait and posture.

Assessment methods

The oral exame includes two or more questions about general subjects. (Example: a skeletal joint with the corresponding bones, ligaments, different intrinsic structures and related movements; a skeletal muscle group with single origins and insertions in relation to the generated movements).

Natural bones.  Anatomical plastic models. Wax anatomical models.
