Corso:
First cycle degree programme (L) in
Health Assistance (cod. 8879)
Also valid for First cycle degree programme (L) in Nursing (cod. 8475)
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student learns the basics of mechanics, thermology, electromagnetism, wave phenomena and modern physics. He learns the application of mechanical, thermal and electromagnetic mechanisms to biological phenomena.
Course contents
Fundamentals of Physics:
Mechanics of solid matter: kinematics, dynamics, statics, mechanical energy for point bodies and rigid bodies.
Electromagnetism: electrostatic, magnetostatic, oscillating and electrodynamic fields.
Wave properties: equations, parameters, waveforms, examples with sound and electromagnetic waves.
Physics Applications:
Biophysics and living organisms. Interaction between electromagnetic radiation & biological tissues.
Examples of applications to biomedical instruments (Eco, NMR, TAC).
Readings/Bibliography
Online material (available on AMS campus)
Elementi di fisica in medicina e biologia, G. Castellani D. Remondini, Bononia University Press 2014
Teaching methods
Front lessons and handouts.
Theoretical lessons and exercises on the addressed topics, with practical examples and applications.
Assessment methods
Written exam and optional oral exam.
Knowledge and competences of the student will be avaluated using a multiple choice test, with 10 questions (4 options each). Each question is worth 2 point for the correct answer and one additional point for the correct solving procedure, if written.
The written test result can be modified with an oral exam (only on student's request) that will focus on the topic of the questions of the exam.
The oral test is necessary to obtain a final evaluation of 30 with honors.
