Learning outcomes

The student will be able to comprehend and produce a wide range of written and oral texts, in German, and be able to express him or herself with relative fluency and spontaneity.

Course contents

The course continues with the study of the topics dealt with in the first year, with particular focus on:

• morphological, syntactical, phonetic and lexical structures of standard German;

• the characteristics of spoken language;

• the relationship between written and spoken language;

• the dynamics underlying linguistic variation;

• the knowledge and use of lexicographical tools and online resources (different types of dictionaries, corpora, data bases).


In addition, through targeted educational interventions, the course enhances the development of relevant skills for text production and oral interaction.

Teaching methods

Lectures, exercises, group work.

This course will be supported by separate language training sessions (lettorato), aimed at supporting and consolidating writing and speaking skills. Students shall attend at least 70% of course lessons and training sessions.

Assessment methods

Assessment in Progress: written tasks, assigned at regular intervals, and intermediate tests.

Final Assessment: Written test: grammar test, text analysis. Time: 2 hours.
Oral exam (which can only be taken after the written test has been passed): an interview in German on
- a dossier of previously assigned texts, with verification of comprehension and reformulation capacity;
- two texts produced by the student during the course: a PowerPoint presentation (or equivalent applications; 3-5 slides) and a written text of approx. 700-800 words.

The evaluation of both texts will regard also the working process in itself and its documentation.

The total mark for the examination in LINGUA E MEDIAZIONE TEDESCA II (PRIMA LINGUA) is the average between the mark for this module and the one for INTERPRETAZIONE DI TRATTATIVA TEDESCA I (PRIMA LINGUA).

Teaching tools

Video projector, PC, specific programs for linguistic analysis of texts, corpora, web resources of various kinds, multimedia materials, Moodle e-learning platform.
