Learning outcomes

The student will be capable of understanding and producing a wide range of written and oral texts in Spanish, and will be able to express his or her self with relative ease and spontaneity.

Course contents

Lessons are to be held twice a week during first term and are organised in two parts. The first part is aimed at strengthening and learning writing techniques. The second part is mainly focused on the characteristics of oral texts.

Teaching methods

This course module requires a 70% student attendance. The lessons will be predominantly seminars, entailing the active participation of all students in class.

Assessment methods

The final examination aims to test theoretical contents as well as the linguistic abilities. It consists of a written exam (on the course contents) and an oral exam (on the topics of the course programme and on the obligatory readings).

The overall mark of the integrated course “Language and Cultural Mediation: Spanish II (First Language)” will be the average between the marks obtained for course modules “Spanish Language and Culture II” and “Spanish Liaison Interpreting I”.
