Learning outcomes

The student acquires theoretical knowledge, practical skills and clinical criteria in the community dentistry, defined as "science and art to prevent dental diseases, to promote oral health and improve the quality of life Through joint efforts of society as a whole. Specific didactic objectives: 1) The student acquires the ability to educate on the subject of dental prevention, 2) the student acquires the ability to identify population groups at risk of developing oral pathologies, 3) the student acquires the Ability to plan and perform targeted prevention interventions in population groups at risk.

Course contents

1. Traumatic dental injuries of permanent dentition: Epidemiology, prevention guidelines.
2. Orthopaedic-Orthodontic Pathologies: Epidemiology, prevention guidelines.
3.La assessment of risk in developmental age; Targeted prevention interventions depending on the risk.
4.Il role of the free-choice pediatrician in the promotion of oral health in the developmental age.
5.Il role of Dental hygienist in the promotion of oral health in the developmental age.

Teaching methods

The teaching is composed of frontal lessons.

The lessons, set on the principles of medical teaching, provide a close interaction between teachers and students.


Assessment methods

The final examination is divided into a written test, concerning the resolution of a clinical case and an oral test to verify the acquisition of the knowledge.
