Learning outcomes
Students will be able to understand basic principles of: crime scene investigation, chain of custody, diagnosis of biological fluids, identification analysis in forensic genetics, extraction methods in forensic toxicology, applications for Court requests, consent and professional duties.
Course contents
forensic biology includes two elements: forensic genetics and toxicology. The study is focalized on: scentific evidence and legal aspects, DNA analysis for identification and paternity testing, mt DNA and Y chromosome analysis for forensic applications, forensic statstics, forensic toxicology.
