Learning outcomes

After completing this module the student knows the orthopedic conditions most commonly encountered clinical application of the diagnostic and evaluation of surgical techniques is able to recognize traumatic orthopedic disorders and dysplastic and perform a therapeutic planning.

Course contents

The course includes lectures and practical classes on clinical cases that occur in our orthopedic surgeries.
Program: orthopedic examination; hints anatomical bone and its development; healing bone, radiological changes and complications, fractures and their classification; bandages; treatment of fractures: closed reduction and bloody; intramedullary fixation, cerclage wires, tension band , lag screws, plates of bone, external fixation. Articular pathologies and surgical treatments: cranial cruciate ligament rupture, patellar luxation, hip dysplasia. Dislocations and surgical treatments. Luxations of the shoulder, elbow, hip, tendon pathologies and surgical treatments.
