Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student should be able to:

  • define clinical practice guidelines as an important tool in applying evidence-based medicine to patient care. In particular, should be able to interpret the benefits and risks of a particular diagnostic or therapeutic procedure in everyday clinical decision-making
  • define the potentials and limitations of current clinical practice guidelines 
  • define barriers to the use, adaptation and implementation of current clinical practice guidelines 

 

Course contents

  • Guidelines on the management of stable coronary artery disease
  • Guidelines for the management of acute coronary syndromes in patients presenting without persistent ST-segment elevation
  • Guidelines for the management of acute  myocardial infarction in patients presenting with ST-segment elevation
  • Guidelines on myocardial revascularization
