Learning outcomes

At the end of this course, students knows and understands the principal explanatory theories of the Psychology of the Human Resources; - he knows and understands objectives and methods of the professional activity of the psychologist within the Human Resources during the whole working career; - it is able to delineate a project for the organizational management and the inherent managerial practices the profession of work psychologist especially in the contexts of the job, of the organizations and of the human resources; - it is able to delineate a strategy of promotion and marketing of the profession especially in the contexts of the job, of the organizations and of the human resources.

Course contents

The course pursues the general objective to introduce the students to the organizational processes implicated in the heterogeneous activities of management of the personnel by their entry, permanence up to the different forms of separation, with a diversity management perspective too.

The main topics concern: Elements of organization and function of human resources; Organisational strategy and role of the human resources function; Cycle value with respect to human resources; Computerized human resource information systems; Staff, turnover / absenteeism; Career  management; Recruitment and personnel selection process.

Teaching methods

Didactic methods that will be used to improve knowledge/competences are: lecture & questions, group work assignments and exercises, small group discussion, student oral presentation, student paper and student reading. Expert practitioners will be invited to present cases.

Assessment methods

The exam verifies the achievement of the following learning objectives:

knowledge of the theoretical models and application frameworks related to the personnel psychology

ability to apply theoretical knowledge related to the personnel psychology

Students regularly attending the course,  the assessment will be on:  group exercise on online recruitment, an individual manuscript on organizational case and a short interview on the theoretical models and on application frameworks related to the personnel psychology.  

Students not regularly attending the course ,  the assessment will be on:  a manuscript (10 pages) regarding a topic assigned by the teacher and an interview on the theoretical models and on application frameworks related to the personnel psychology.
