Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to develop a culture in the pharmacy management area, linked to the basic knowledge, to prepare pharmacists capable to work in the filed of drug dispensing. The student, by achieving this exam, knows the management, the marketing and the personal communication Knows the pharmacoeconomics basis allowing him/her to reach a complete capability to manage the pharmaceutical service.

The aim of the course is to develop a managerial attitude in
order to consolidate the basic knowledge and train professional
figures capable to operate in drug dispensing. Starting from the
novelties in drug production and distribution, we propose to
improve the management of a pharmacy, focusing on internal
efficiency and money-saving behaviours that lead to an optimization
of the profits. This course deals with management, marketing,
communication and the economic aspects related in the direction of
a pharmacy.

Teaching methods
This course is organized into two modules. A module
of Acquisition of management skills (2 CFU) and a module of
Acqusition of communicative skills (3CFU).
The two modules consist of oral lessons.
Assessment methods
The attendance to the course is mandatory. Written test, for each module, will be held at the end of the course. Students that will not attend the exam or do not pass will do a written exam, starting from the february term of exams, where they will answer to questions on the arguments that have been discussed in the lessons and with the aim to ascertain their knowledge on: management of a private pharmacy. Pharmacy internal efficiency and money-saving behaviours. Management. Knowledge of economic aspects necessary to direct a pharmacy. Mature markets and the pharmacist's activity. Analysis of the pharmacy as matrix of communication. Communication principles that can be applied to the pharmacy. Communication skills with medical doctors, clients and patients. Pharmaceutical services and communication. Communication and self-medication for small patologies and dermocosmesis. Future perspectives for the pharmacy. The exam will give an aptitude (not a mark). Written examination can be afforded only by the students that have attended the course and obtained by the teachers the attendance. The students can also afford two partial tests that will be held in January. The first test is focused on the topics of the module of Acquisition of Relational skills: mature markets and the pharmacist's activity; analysis of the pharmacy as matrix of communication; communication principles that can be applied to the pharmacy; communication skills with medical doctors, clients and patients; pharmaceutical services and communication; communication and self-medication for small patologies and dermocosmesis; future perspectives for the pharmacy. The second test will be focused on the topics of the second module: management of a private pharmacy; pharmacy internal efficiency and money-saving behavioral management; knowledge of economic aspects necessary to direct a pharmacy. Students that will pass both written tests do not need to do and to pass the written exam.
