00031 - Pathological Anatomy (A-KH)

Academic Year 2013/2014

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: Single cycle degree programme (LMCU) in Medicine and Surgery (cod. 8415)

Learning outcomes

The course aims to provide students knowledges about the main epidemiological, etiological, morphological, phenotypic and clinical-pathological features of the most important neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases (inflammatory, degenerative and ischemic) of the following apparata: cardiovascular, hematologic, respiratory, gastro-intestinal, urinary, male and female reproductive system, as well as breast, and endocrine system,  liver and biliary tract, pancreas, central nervous system, skin, bone and soft tissue. At the end of the course, the student will must be able to: - correctly decode the histo-pathological diagnosis of these diseases, with a clear perception of their prognostic and therapeutic value.

Readings/Bibliography

Pathologic Basis of Disease. ROBBINS AND COTRAN. VII EDITION THE LECTURES ARE ESSENTIAL FOR THE COMPREHENSION  AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE PATHOLOGICAL ANATOMY.

Teaching methods

Lectures. Discussion with the students. Access to diagnostic activity.

Assessment methods

Test at the end of the course.

Teaching tools

The student can integrate the teaching course, attending the routine activities at the Service of Pathological Anatomy Pad 26, in agreement with the teacher. The routine activity implies sampling of the surgical specimens, the revision of the slides at the multiple microscope, and the autoptic activity.
