Learning outcomes
Periodontology (Periodontal Treatment Procedures) is a survey of
basic periodontal surgical technique and procedure.
Our students should finish the course with a fundamental
understanding of surgical design, anatomy and repertoire of
procedures.
They should also feel confident in their understanding of managing
their patients' normal post-operative care and post-operative
complications.
Course contents
Objectives of the course are:
- develop didactic appreciation of surgical technique
- demonstrate basic skills with surgical armamentarium
- basic incision technique
- surgical incisions
- flap design: basic anatomic considerations, surface design
