Course contents
The course is composed of two modules:
Module 1: Project Evaluation
Module 2: Project Management
Module 1 aims to provide students with the basic knowledge needed to understand the characteristics and functioning of a business; to present the main tools for representing and analyzing business performance; and to provide the foundational instruments for the economic analysis of key business decisions. The first part of the module focuses on the introduction to the financial statements as an analytical tool for business management. The second part covers costs for decision-making and the techniques for economic evaluation of investments, providing students with both the theoretical foundations and analytical methodologies.
Module 2 aims to provide students with the fundamental knowledge for managing projects in an industrial context. Starting from the definitions of project and process, the module introduces the culture, tools, and techniques available in the literature for managing complex projects in critical environments. Both waterfall and agile project frameworks will be illustrated. The module also addresses relational aspects critical to project management, such as communication, leadership, and team building. Finally, students will learn the fundamental techniques for the economic evaluation of projects.
