Are you from an EU or non-EU country?

• The Student Accommodation and Information Service (SAIS): was established to help international students finding housing and navigate rental agreements. The service is provided at no cost and provides non-EU citizens with the certification regarding the availability of accommodation necessary for obtaining the entry visa. It is a service managed by private operators, the University of Bologna is not responsible for the activities and contents conveyed.

Bologna has several university residences managed by ER.GO. They are located both in the city centre and in the suburbs, close to services and with good transport connections.

To obtain a place in a hall of residence, students must apply through an ER.GO call for application. The call is open to those enrolling in degree programmes, not to exchange students.

University subsidies for non-resident (fuori sede) students enrolled in the 2024/25 a.y.

The University of Bologna has issued a call for applications for the allocation of 600 grants, amounting to € 1,000.00 each, to non-resident (fuori sede) students to cover a portion of the rent incurred in the 2024/25 academic year.

Students can apply to the call if they meet the following requirements: being non-resident (fuori sede) students, having an ISEE indicator below € 28,000 and ISPE indicator below € 62,000, and being enrolled in the 2024/25 academic year in a first cycle, second cycle, or a single cycle degree programme.

The call for applications is open, and closes on 29 November 2024, at 3:00 PM.

• benefits application form;

Thanks to a special fund established by the Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR), the University of Bologna has announced a new call for housing expense subsidies non-resident (fuori sede) students enrolled in the 2023/24 academic year. 

The amount of the subsidy will be determined by the Ministry of Universities and Research.

The call has expired on 6 September 2024.

Having a proper tenancy agreement is a way of protecting your rights and is also required to obtain your residence permit if you are a non-EU citizen. The Italian Revenue Agency in conjunction with the University can help you register your tenancy agreement.

The student halls of residence in Cesena are Palazzo Urbinati, in the city centre, La Torre and Camplus, a short walk from the campus. All residences offer single and double rooms with a shared kitchen, study rooms and university WI-FI coverage.

The student residence is located in Via Roma, in front of the railway station in Rimini, very close to the campus buildings.

It covers an area of 5,000 square metres and offers double and single rooms as well as rooms for the disabled, all equipped with television, internet access, air conditioning, kitchenette and private bathroom facilities.

There are areas for socialising such as communal dining areas on each floor, a spacious foyer, internet room, TV/music room, gym with changing facilities, library, study rooms and meeting rooms. The residence also a storage shed for bicycles and mopeds, and communal laundry and ironing facilities.
