Learning outcomes

The course aims to explain the employment relationship regulation, also according to the constitutional principles and the recent and significant legislative reforms. At the end of this course the student will be able to: - understand the main forms of employees protection provided for by the law - be aware of the principal legal issues related to labour law - use instruments learned during the course, applying them to concrete and specific circumstances.

Course contents

The distinction between employment and self employment. Labour law sources. The evolution of industrial relations in Italy. Collective bargaining: content, procedures, subjects. Worker's participation in management. he labor market regulation. Works agency. The object of the employment contract: tasks and jus variandi. The employee's duties: diligence, obedience, loyalty. The employer's powers. Workplace health and safety. The working time limits. The protection of women's work. Pay. The suspension of the employment relationship. The termination of the employment relationship: the individual dismissal, collective redundancies, the indemnities. The safeguarding of employees's rights in the event of transfers of undertakings or business. Flexible employment contracts. Platform work.
