Learning outcomes

The course aims to develop oral fluency through listening and speaking tasks.

Course contents

Listening:

Listening exercises: words, sentences and short texts to be repeated / transcribed in pinyin.

Oral production

Phonetics exercises. Initials-finals, tones. The prosody. Reproduction of model dialogues or monologues. Tongue twisters.

Online video and vlog.

Assessment methods

At the end of the course, the students will hand the teacher a personal portfolio of their recordings (individual or group work)

1) 美丽 新世界: video "dubbing" (voice over) 

2) A vlog: using the vlog presented as a template, record your own vlog.

- Students who demonstrate full mastery of the performance required in the task (linguistic aspects - fluency and accuracy - paralinguistic, technological) obtain a high or maximum rating (from 27 to 30 with honors);

- Students who demonstrate a good command of the language, but a poor command of the paralinguistic and technological elements, get an average rating (23-26);

- Those who demonstrate an elementary linguistic performance, with poor fluency and / or accuracy of exposure and a sufficient command of the technological medium will be graded with a low-level assessment (18-22)

- Students who are unable to present an understandable linguistic performance or will present a totally inadequate performance upon completion of the task, will be asked to repeat the task by lowering the complexity and working on the accuracy of the exposure, enhancing pragmatic competence. In this case, the student will not be able to reach a rating higher than 22.
