Sabrina Ardizzoni

After ten years of work as an interpreter and cultural-linguistic mediator, I began to work as a Lecturer in Chinese at Unibo in 2004.

I studied Chinese at the University of Bologna from 1986, then I spent several years studying and working as interpreter in China, until 1995, at the Institute of Languages and Cultures in Beijing and at the Normal University of Anhui.
The work of linguistic-cultural mediation, started in 1998 has been carried out in schools, local authorities and NGOs. In Italy I have been working as an interpreter and translator in social, medical and business fields.

I have taught Italian as a second language to students starting from kindergarten children to young adults, up to University students and workers with various levels of schooling.

I focus my research interests in new language teaching techniques, translation issues, and in the investigation of the social changes taking place in rural China, with particular reference to internal and international migration movements and gender issues.

I am currently developing Hakka studies in Italy, thanks to the cooperation with local educational and cultural institutions in Fujian and Jiangxi.
