- CURATOR
Functions:
• Coordinating museums and institutions (cultural centres, cultural heritage offices, schools, etc.) activities with the resources and needs of the development of the territory,
• coordinating relations between the relative institutes, the bodies in charge of the protection of territorial, cultural and environmental heritage, regional offices and associations, also for organising monitoring activities.
• gathering and representing the cultural needs of the community and promoting citizens' participation in the cultural life of the institution
• prearranging documentation, monitoring, verification and evaluation of the actions implemented,
• programming and coordinating the activities of inventoring and cataloguing collections according to national and regional standards and guaranteeing public enjoyment,
• developing the cataloguing and inventoring cards collections, according to the national and regional regulations and fulfilling their updating,
• contributing to the updating of the methods, standards and cataloguing instruments implemented by the museum using IT and computerised technologies,
• planning day-to-day maintenance, preservation and restoration,
• defining programmes for maintenance of the works and verifying their implementation, also based on environmental and microclimatic conditions,
• implementing the monitoring of environmental and climatic conditions of the exhibition halls and stores, identifying any measures to be implemented for the best preservation of the collections,
• planning restoration,
• gathering and looking after the documentation of the interventions of restoration, in collaboration with the registrar,
• conducting or assisting in the execution of diagnostic analysis for the purpose of research or planning preservation and restoration,
• analysing and interpreting the data pertaining to constituting materials, execution technique and state of heritage preservation,
• defining and taking part in programmes for increasing collections,
• contributing to developing the criteria and planning collection exhibitions,
• conducting and coordinating history of art study activities,
• cooperating to the appreciation of the collections through cultural, educational and scientific communication and supporting the study activities for the development of an informative and cognitive system,
• planning and coordinating activities related to temporary exhibitions and publishing for the requesting museum or institution,
• supervising and reporting on the territorial cultural heritage included in the assigned responsibilities as regards territorial technical offices and authorised public offices.
