Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student must show knowledge and skills that extend and strengthen the contents, operational and research methods of the nursing and midwifery sciences acquired in the first cycle of study and understand the historical-philosophical evolution of the respective disciplinary fields in order to critically analyze them.

Course contents

Philosophy of nursing and midwifery: epistemological aspects, definitions and basic concepts related to science, profession, discipline; theorical and theoretical approach to nursing and midwifery care.
Peculiarities and innovative features of the main theories of nursing and midwifery.
Further informations regarding other contents that will be treated in class will be provided later.

Oral exam with discussion of an in-depth study carried out in written form by the student that demonstrates interpretation, reasoning and problem solving skills with respect to the topics covered during the lessons.
The exam is passed if the tests of the remaining CI modules are also sufficient.
