Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student:- knows and understands the epistemological and methodological foundations of didactic; - knows the general categories of didactic as applied in different areas of social work; - is able to interpret the specificity of different contexts and to elaborate appropriate didactic strategies to solve problems;- is aware of the competences characterizing the professional role of social workers; - is able to reflect on hers/his own competences as an educator and to adapt her/his professional role and practice across a variety of social and cultural contexts; - knows the main techniques used for facilitating group work and team working; - is able to work in team for designing educational projects, discussing context-appropriate strategies and for developing interpretative tools; - knows the main features characterizing community work and participatory design of socio-educational programs; - is able to design educational projects starting from the analysis of local needs and resources, by proactively engaging with services' end-users and community stakeholders in an empowering perspective; - is competent in choosing adequate strategies in order to promote collaboration among different subjects involved in educational projects (individuals or groups or institutions) and in identifying synergies and share directions for work.

Course contents

The course is divided into two modules, the first taught by Prof. Arianna Lazzari and the second by Dott. Chiara Dalledonne Vandini.

Taught contents are referred to the following topics:

- Definition of didactics as the entirety of all the methodologies adopted for educational interventions carried out in the field of social work

- Didactics' conceptual categories: the learner, the educator, the contents, the languages and the contexts where learning takes place

- Didactics as mediation: the role of languages, relations, strategies, materials

- Didactic methods and tools for implementation

- Team work methodologies

- Designing educational projects according to participatory processes.

The materials used during the lectures (slides, articles,...) will be available - in Italian language - on the Virtual platform of the course which can be retrieved at the link: https://virtuale.unibo.it

To access the platform students are required to register with personal username and password.

ERASMUS STUDENTS

The lectures and the exam will be carried out in Italian language. Erasmus students are required to study the following compulsory readings:

Students who intend to take the exam in English as non-attenders are asked to contact the lecturers to arrange the exam schedule and reference bibliography.

SLD STUDENTS

 Students with specific learning disabilities are asked to contact the office in charge and follow the usual procedures for agreeing on how to conduct the exam (right to additional time, use of maps, use of pc, ...).

Teaching methods

Interactive lessons, video analysis, group work and case studies' discussion.

Assessment methods

Oral examination of argumentative type.

During the examination, students' knowledge will be evaluated in relation to the topics covered during course and illustrated in the scholarly texts reported in the bibliography.

Assessment indicators include:

- relevance of the answer to the question posed by the lecturer;

- clarity in the exposition of content;

- use of appropriate disciplinary language;

- ability to reflet in-depth and create link between the main themes discussed during the course;

- ability to provide examples and cases related to the socio-educational contexts in which the social and cultural educator works.


The grade will be expressed in thirtieths.
