Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student knows the statistical and statistical-epidemiological methodologies applied to the biomedical and clinical-welfare fields as well as to health planning and the organization and management of health services. The student knows the basic and general information technology methodologies and tools that provide the conceptual and technological basis for the organization, management and access to information and knowledge.

Course contents

Introduction to Statistics. Data distributions (absolute, relative, percentage, conditional).

Measures of central tendency and variability measures. Data representation.

Elements of epidemiology: prevalence, incidence and rates. Main measures of association.

Types of study: observational and experimental
