Course contents

The workshop (which participates in the University's teaching innovation project) includes 12 lectures, 6 of which are theoretical in nature and 6 classroom exercises on the topics covered in the lectures.

The 6 theoretical lectures will be delivered online via the MS Teams platform. The 6 tutorials, on the other hand, will be held in the classroom in presence.

  • Lecture 1. Low and high "readability" texts.
  • Lecture 2. Exercise.
  • Lecture 3. Pars destruens. The main communicative flaws of legal professionals.
  • Lecture 4. Exercise.
  • Lecture 5. Pars construens (part 1). The basic rules of legal plain language.
  • Lecture 6. Exercise.
  • Lecture 7. Pars construens (part 2). Before you start writing: mind maps, concept maps, outline.
  • Lesson 8. Exercise.
  • Lesson 9. Building arguments.
  • Lesson 10. Exercise.
  • Lesson 11. Creating a synthesis.
  • Lesson 12. Exercise.

The study of the following text is mandatory for attending and non-attending students:

Teaching methods

As mentioned above, the workshop (which participates in the University's teaching innovation project) includes 12 lectures, 6 of which are theoretical in nature and 6 exercises on the topics covered in the lectures.

Theoretical lectures and exercises will be delivered online via the MS Teams platform.

Assessment methods

A text will be submitted containing the writing defects indicated and examined in the first two segments of the course. Students will have to identify such defects, write them down and rewrite the passages in question according to the rules of good legal writing set out in the third segment.
During the verification it will be allowed to consult the textbook, any notes, the dictionary.

Teaching tools

Students who, for reasons dependent on disabilities or specific learning disorders (DSA), need compensatory tools can communicate their needs to the teacher in order to be directed to the referents and agree on the adoption of the most appropriate measures.
