Learning outcomes

The laboratory activity (125 hours) examines ceramic and glass materials. At the end of the activity, the student knows the material and morphological characteristics and knows how to evaluate any problems of alteration and degradation to arrive at the definition of an appropriate conservation methodology.

In consideration of the types of activities and teaching methods adopted, the frequency of this training activity requires the performance of all students of Modules 1 and 2 in e-learning mode [https://www.unibo.it/it/servizi-e-opportunita/salute-e-assistenza/salute-e-sicurezza/sicurezza-e-salute-nei-luoghi-di-studio-e-tirocinio] and participation in Modules 3 and 4 of specific training on safety and health in places of study. Information on the dates and methods of attendance of specific training modules can be found in the appropriate section of the course website. For the specific activities of restoration laboratories, medical fitness is required, which is assessed following a medical examination organised by the University Service of Occupational Medicine.

Assessment methods

The verification will be carried out daily during the laboratory activities. At the end of each activity, a detailed technical report of the activity carried out must be submitted. The student will have to demonstrate that he has acquired a good dexterity in addition to the ability to connect the learned contents, to elaborate a project, to use the correct terminology. The evaluation will take into account the active participation in lessons and exercises, and the improvement of the technique. By virtue of the above criteria, the student will be subjected to verification for each module of Laboratory activities, obtaining a judgment of merit (insufficient, sufficient, good, more than good, excellent, excellent). Eligibility will be granted only in the case of all assessments equal to or higher than sufficiency.
