Course contents

The course of SPECIALIZED INTER PRETING - RUSSIAN LANGUAGE is part of the integrated course INTERPRETATING BETWEEN RUSSIAN AND ITALIAN II for students with Russian “A” Language , and the integrated course INTERPRETATING FROM RUSSIAN INTO ITALIAN II for students with Russian “B” Language. The purpose of this 48-hours, bidirectional & monothematic course is to enhance theoretical knowledge and practical interpreting skills & techniques applied to law context, including especially (legal or illegal) immigration, organised crime, contracts.

Teaching methods

Sight translations, simultaneous and consecutive interpreting exercises, chuchotage, using authentic texts taken from conferences, audio and video material, radio and tv programmes.

Assessment methods

The aim of the final exam is to test the complete aquisition of interpreting techniques and the teminological sector-based competence.

The course does not involve an examination of its own. The verification of the knowledge and skills acquired will therefore be carried out as part of the examination relating to Conference Interpreting II ( A Language / B language) with a single final average rating. Length of exam: 6-8 minutes in case of consectuive interpreting and 12-16 in case of simultaneous interpreting.

Teaching tools

Interpreting exercises using audio and video material concerning real situations on the chosen topic with several levels of difficulty.
