Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, students will know basic general topology and homotopy theory. They will be able to use their knowledge in different mathematical problems.

Course contents

Metric spaces, Topological spaces, continuity, connectedness, compactness. Countability axioms. Separation properties. Topology of projective spaces, topological manifolds, graphs. Homotopy theory, fundamental group and coverings.

Lectures and exercise sessions.

Assessment methods

Written exam and oral exam. Admission to the oral exam is restricted to those who have passed the written exam.
