Teaching methods

The course methodology is participatory.

Lectures held by the teacher will alternate and integrate group discussions, watching multimedia materials, individual / group student presentations during lessons related to analyzed topics.

Despite the fact that it is not compulsory, course attendance is highly recommended.

Given that an active involvement of students is required during lessons, course attendance (certified on the basis of a minimum 70% of presence) is necessary in order to take the exam for regular attendees.

Assessment methods

The final exam aims to verify the achievement of the main goals.

The assessment of the degree of preparation will vary according to the attendance or non-attendance of lessons.

In the first case: the exam will consist of two parts

1. written text composed of three open questions (exam duration: 1hr30mins). The questions will focus on addressed issues during lessons. Grades are expressed in thirtieths. For each question there are 10 points assigned max.

2. oral examination about the book Sicurella S. Da quel giorno mia madre ha smesso di cantare. Storie di mafia, Giappichelli, Torino, 2017.

For not regular attendees the exam consists in an oral interview to verify the adequacy of preparation on the indicated texts (compulsory books).

To take the examination students must enroll in the AlmaEsami with the deadlines required. Students who are unable to enroll within the due date must inform the secretarial office promptly. The teacher will decide if they can take the exam or not.
