Learning outcomes

The classes aim to provide the student with the semantic and the semiotic tools needed to analyze contemporary musical and audiovisual languages, applying them to both aesthetic and popular culture texts, such as movies, television programs, songs, video clips, etc.

Course contents

Semiotic methodology and concrete analyses of audio-visual languages, such as Mulholland Drive, Game of Thrones, ETernal Sunchine of the Spotless Mind, Westworld, Perfect Sense and many others.
