  • Corso: Second cycle degree programme (LM) in Mechanical Engineering (cod. 0938)

Learning outcomes

Students will learn principles about industrial mechanical plants for energy production

Course contents

Technic and economic foundamentals of non conventional energy production plants are treated.

Engineering and costs of nuclear, (fusion and fission), solar, (thermal and photovoltaic), wind, hydraulic and geothermal energy generation plants and biological fuel production from specific cultivations, urban and zootechnical wastes, are discussed.

Advanced energy conversion systems, (fuel cell, magnetohydro dinamic, thermoelectrical and termoionic devices), are described.
