Learning outcomes

The purpose of the course is to evaluate investment decisions towards financial securities traded in the financial markets (bonds, stocks and derivatives). By the end of the course, students learn (a) how to evaluate the risk and the return associated with the securities traded in the financial markets, as well as (b) to effectively employ the modern portfolio theory in the selection of the securities.

The course is in English and is focused on financial system, financial instruments (stocks, bonds, and derivatives), and portfolio management.

Teaching methods

The course involves applications of the Portfolio Theory and Portfolio Management. The vast majority of classes will involve theory, applications, exercises, group discussion, and laboratory time.

Written project, both for attending students and non attending students  related to the portfolio analysis and its application.
