Learning outcomes

The course provides a systematic understanding of the strategic management mechanisms of companies, tackles the typical problems of competitive contexts and business activities. At the end of the course the student:
- is able to recognize the typical configurations of characters and problems in different competitive environments;
- Will be able to evaluate the managerial implications of different configurations of the competitive environment;
- Knows the links between company value and range of activities;
- Can evaluate options for vertical integration, internationalization and corporate diversification.

Course contents

Global expansion strategies and the implications involving the production and organization of international companies, entry strategies, strategic alliances, M&A, outsourcing and logistics will be addressed.
Seminars are planned on corporate social responsibility, international marketing, cultural differences (from the type of investments to be made to the design of the products / services to be proposed) and environmental sustainability of the business.
