Learning outcomes

At the end of the course students should master  knowledge on the acquisition of personal and social identity as a pivotal symbolic property of individuals  taking both a  developmental and social perspective.

They should know theoretical models pertaining to identity construction and institutional orientation

as well as the notion of complexity of identity as a social prejudice buffer.

Course contents

The course is aimed at leading to the understanding of the most important socio-cognitive processes underlying the acquisition of personal and social identity
