Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student knows:
- The management aspects that influence the productivity of pig rearing;
the relationship between feed and quality of PDO products;
the environmental impact of livestock farms;
- The management aspects of  herd of dairy cows and beef cattle; 
- The management issues that affect poultry and rabbit production,  the relationship between nutrition and meat quality;

 

Course contents

practical activities at a pig farm.
From forage to cheese: visit to a cheese factory in area of production of PDO (Parmigiano-Reggiano)
Characterization of fish and poultry and rabbit products: livestock parameters and food quality
