2.Clinical and metabolic disorders of chronic kidney disease;
3.Classification of chronic kidney disease;
4.Therapeutic approach to chronic kidney disease
5.Pre dialysis phase.
6.Acute decompensation of chronic renal impairment.
7.Artificial replacement of renal function methods.
8.Implementation of access for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
9.Management of hemodialysis treatment.
10.Management of peritoneal dialysis treatment.
11.Metabolic disorders in hemodialysis patients.
12.Supportive therapy for patients under renal replacement treatment.
13.Risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer and infections in hemodialysis patients.

Assessment methods

At the end of the course a written test will be performed to assess the achievement of the following educational objectives:

-          To be able to define and recognize the status of chronic renal failure and related laboratory findings and clinical feature.

-          To know the main renal replacement therapy methods available for the survival of the chronic renal failure patient and the principal complications related to them.

-          To know the main laboratory findings and clinical features to define suitability to transplantation of the dialysis patient.

-          To learn about the essential elements for the management of patients undergoing kidney transplantation in postoperative period and in the long-term follow-up.

 The proficiency test will be held at the end of the course in writing with questions focusing on educational objectives listed above. Votes are not assigned: the test gets the verbalization of course eligibility. To get the test exam, the student requires the documented course frequency. Verbalization of the evaluation takes place at the test itself.
