Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is able to understand the biochemical processes and functions of muscle and bone tissues.
Course contents
Skeletal and cardiac muscle: Metabolic pathways
followed by muscle tissues; mechanisms of contraction and
relaxation; metabolic changes and contractile protein adaptation to
motor activity.
Bone: The role of bone cells in the mechanisms of
osteogenesis and osteolysis.

Teaching methods
Frontal lessons. Additional scheduled classes will be held in response to specific questions about the course program after the examination of the course Human Systematic Biochemistry.
Assessment methods
The assessment of learning takes place through the final exam which ensures the acquisition of knowledge and skills expected by a written test, followed by correction and explanation of the errors in the presence of the student. The test consists of answering some questions related to the course program of the C.I. Biochimica Sistematica Umana. The final evaluation is expressed as to suitability to the knowledge acquired during the course.
