Learning outcomes

Knowledge and understanding of the basic mechanisms leading to liver autoimmunity and its serological, histological and clinical expression.

Applying knowledge and understanding of the different immunological and serological patterns of liver autoimmunity and its differential diagnosis.

Making judgements in the diagnostic work-up of patients with a liver autoimmune disease, and in identifying the best therapeutic option.

Communication skills in explaining to the patient and his/her familiy the features of the disease, the prognostic factors and the realistic therapeutic targets.

Learning skills in distinguishing the subtle immunological and sierological differences among the different autoimmune liver diseases.
