Conoscenze e abilità da conseguire
By the end of the workshop students will have an in-depth knowledge of the main tools in a selection of innovative archaeological topics, and know how to apply them to assigned individual activities. They will be able to address specific topics with an in-depth description of methods and data theories, achieving maturity and independence in their scientific research. They will understand the main scientific debates of recent prehistory, expounding critical points of view based on the main evidence from material culture.
Contenuti
The Senior Seminars series covers an extremely diverse range of topics addressing the whole multidisciplinary spectrum of current archaeology and heritage research. It is the premier archaeology and heritage lecture series in English at the University of Bologna. It is open to staff and students but the students enrolled onto the 'Applied critical archaeology and heritage' MA are required to attend a number of seminars and write a short critical paper on them, for a pass/fail mark. Seminars and short courses offered by external invited speakers and leading researchers in the field of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage.
Modalità di verifica e valutazione dell'apprendimento
Students are either expected to attend eight (8) seminars or six (6) seminars and one (1) short course over the course of two years.
The Senior Seminar is a pass/fail class and, in order to get 6 credits (CFU), students are required to write a 3000 - words cumulative paper on the seminars attended, starting from the exam session in June.
