Contenuti

The goal of this seminar series is to equip students with a fair, honest, and up-to-date overview of how today’s companies work and what they look for in job candidates.

  • What does each company department do and why?
  • What skills and competencies are most coveted in today’s rapidly changing world?
  • How is work changing and what do companies really look for in the leaders of tomorrow?

Think about this: medicine students spend hours learning how the human body works. Management students likewise need to be familiar with a company's functions and departments. This seminar offers an opportunity to deep dive into the characteristics of day-to-day company practices across a variety of industries and functions.

The seminar will be led by two Unibo alumni from the International Management MSc: Daniele Graverini and Carlo Sicoli who conceived and designed this seminar series in collaboration with Prof Ferriani. Each session in the series is organized into two parts. In the first part Daniele and Carlo set the stage for the specific topics covered in that particular session. The second part is organized around a guest talk by a manager from a leading international company with significant expertise in a specific function.

Each manager will share her/his experiences and will offer an insider look into the backstage of day-to-day leading managerial practices in today's highly turbulent business environment. These talks will offer students an opportunity to better appreciate such crucial topics as job market expectations, key competencies required to succeed in today's business landscape, as well as talent search, selection and acquisition processes.
