The seminar will lead the students through the two-way interaction between brain and diet. A special focus will be on brain regulation of body mass. Our body mass is the result of the communication and regulation of homeostatic, hedonistic and circadian control of food intake. Which senses influence flavour – our perception of food? We will apply all the presented to compare Mediterranean and Western diet and their effects on the brain and our health and wellbeing.

Metodi didattici

A seminar is a form of academic instruction for small groups focusing on some particular subject, in which everyone present is requested to participate.

The leader introduces the topic of the seminar and then, with a kind of “Socratic dialogue”, seminar participants are invited to ask questions and discuss together.

Normally a seminar takes place within few hours and aims to focus on a specific topic, suggesting possible interests to be explored.

The best proxemics for a seminar is to stand around a table.
