Learning outcomes

The course aims to provide the student with a broader view of the IT tools in support of the cultural heritage study, such as: digital transposition and object and document analysis, database organization, ontologies and semantic web, 3D acquisitions and virtual reconstructions via computer graphics. Through the analysis of case studies in various areas of the cultural heritage (archaeological, historical-artistic and architectural, archivist-library and music), the student acquires critical competence on the main digital technologies useful for the knowledge, conservation and enhancement of the cultural heritage.

Assessment methods

The exam will consist of an interview. The aim is to verify the knowledge acquired by students about the topics discussed in the course.
The interview will be different for attending and non-attending students.

For all students (attending and non-attending) the exam will be based on the content of the texts and on the ability to expose the various issues discussed in the course. Mnemonic learning of the definitions and technical terms of the discipline, together with the ability to link between the various issues described in the case studies presented and the technologies used, will be considered as evaluation elements. The expressive capabilities shown during the exam will be considered in the final evaluation.
