B0261 - INTERNATIONAL TOURISM POLICY AND DEVELOPMENT

Conoscenze e abilità da conseguire

The course provides students with the opportunity to apply the knowledge they have acquired on tourism policy and planning to specific country case studies in an international context. The objective is to train the students in using their skills in promoting tourism in countries facing difficulties in developing their tourism market due to, for example, their political, economic, or geographical features. The students will engage in group work and interact with classmates prior to the presentation of their project. Students will learn about the tourism situation around the globe, particularly the roads less travelled. Completing the course will also enhance students’ presentation, as well as problem-solving and promotion skills.

Metodi didattici

After an introduction on the arguments and the guideline, the knowledge will be applied by carrying out a presentation of selected country case studies. The class will engage in live discussion for each country in relation to the international tourism policies suggested. The objective is to develop a sound tourism market, given the respective barriers facing each country.

Modalità di verifica e valutazione dell'apprendimento

The final grade of the course is based on the compulsory group project presentation (80%), and attendance during the presentations and post-discussions (20%).
