Students acquire a working knowledge of the fundamental topics of microeconomics: Theory of consumption, theory of production in competitive markets, partial equilibrium, general equilibrium and efficiency.

Metodi didattici

Frontal lectures and recitations, complemented by supporting material.

Interactive tools and role-games will be used during the lectures to introduce some topics.

Attendance of both lectures and recitations is strongly recommended.

Modalità di verifica e valutazione dell'apprendimento

Written exam structured around three parts: multiple choice questions, theoretical questions, and exercises.

NO oral exam.

During the semester, students will be able to take two partial exams (the final grade is the average of the two partials).

No additional partial exams will be scheduled during the academic year.

Strumenti a supporto della didattica

A total of 60 hours of lectures and 20 hours of recitations.


Slides, the material for the exercises, and other material will be made available online on IOL


Both the book and the additional material are compulsory for the preparation of the exam.
